Innovation Maker Culture

Develop future engineering, technical, and design professionals with the necessary innovation, design, and leadership skills to succeed, VCU’s School of Engineering seeks to expand its capacity to provide experiential learning and create a culture that encourages and supports innovation and entrepreneurship. Creative analysis, design thinking, ideation, and solution development require experience in less-structured project environments. Our School is in the process of expanding capabilities, tools and ideation and innovation facilities for creative expression and advancement of hands-on 3-dimensional development skills. This effort is to add to current efforts in engineering and affiliated students.

Projects will include:

  • Creation and support of new “Performance Project Garage” concept
  • Be a key participant in enhancing maker culture and innovation
  • Participate in Wednesday 1:00pm Maker Culture Speaker Series
  • Assist in designing Innovation Maker Facility in new Engineering Research & Development Building
