Industry Partners

Vertically Integrated Projects (VIP) provide undergraduate students the opportunity to participate in course-based, multiyear, multidisciplinary, team-based projects under the guidance of faculty and graduate students. These projects are in the faculty areas of expertise and the main criterion for participation is that of mutual interest.

Our aim is to deploy VIP best practices to embed in our students not only the discipline-specific skills that make them competent employees, but also to develop a habit of innovative and multi-disciplinary thinking, inclusive teamwork, life-long learning, project management, and leadership skills that make them game-changing employees.

Partnership with industry is essential to the viability and value of a modern education. As technology outpaces our ability to develop a consequential, time-limited, education for our students, it is more important than ever to develop a habit of self-reliance and life-long development of essential skills in our graduates. As industry continues to advance its understanding of teamwork and the value of interdisciplinary partnerships, we need to embed in our students the same sense of seeking to learn about, understand, and partner with experts from a wide range of fields.
